Ok, I’m at a point where I’m embracing watercolors and brush strokes as part of my style. I like the firm handmade touch they give to any project and how they make any composition more personal.
I don’t think I cite this that much, but I do work as an artist/illustrator too. So this ‘let’s make it more artsy’ thing is an influence from that side.
I know watercolors/brush effects have been all around, but I do believe there are always innovative ways we can incorporate elements that seem repetitive. That’s why I’ve been in love with Avallon, a font by Maulana Creative.
Avallon is a perfect match for bold colors and solid backgrounds, and that’s the first thing that called my attention. It looks OK in black but is absolutely GORGEOUS when you pair it with bold color contrasts. I’ve been thinking about acquiring it for a long time, and I’m so happy that I finally did that because it’s exactly how I was picturing.
